Roberta Elins

Roberta Elins serves as President of the United College Employees at the Fashion Institute of Technology, representing a union of 1,500 faculty and staff members. With over 31 years of teaching experience, Roberta holds the position of Professor in Advertising & Marketing Communications and has also served as Executive Vice President of the United College Employees. As Chairperson of both the Direct & Interactive Marketing Department and the Advertising & Marketing Communications Department, Roberta has overseen significant student and faculty bodies. Additionally, Roberta is a member of the New York State United Teachers Board of Directors. Prior to these roles, Roberta founded and led Roberta Elins Public Relations, offering media relations services in the fashion, beauty, art, and publishing sectors. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Media Studies from The New School and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Vassar College.
