Matthew Zimmer

Matthew Zimmer is a Principal Scientist at the New York Stem Cell Foundation. Matthew has over 15 years of experience in the field of science and has worked in various positions such as Laboratory Assistant and Assistant Specialist. Their work focuses on the isolation, identification, and sortation of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells. In their previous positions, they have performed many tasks such as Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA) screens, precipitated and isolated proteins, prepared solutions for use in the lab, isotyped newly purified antibodies, and presented data in lab meetings. Matthew has also maintained and tracked mouse colonies, including breeding, weaning, tail bleeds, and genotyping by PCR.

Matthew Zimmer went to the University of California, Santa Cruz for their AA in Music with a focus in Jazz/Jazz Studies. Matthew then attended Cabrillo College for their Bachelor of Arts in Finance; Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing. Matthew is also certified from the INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR THE ADVANCEMENT CYTOMETRY in C.Cy, Certified Cytometrist.
