Rachel Chavkin

Rachel Chavkin is a Trustee at New York Theatre Workshop. Rachel has also served as Senior Literary Fellow at Arena Stage, Artistic Administration/Casting Intern at Signature Theatre, and Special Projects Intern at City of Providence.

Rachel Chavkin's experience in the theater industry began with an internship at the Williamstown Theatre Festival where they line produced developmental workshops and special events. Rachel also assisted the Artistic Director & Producer with daily operation of the festival and served as administrative assistant to the Artistic Director & Producer.

From September 2010 to June 2012, Rachel Chavkin was a Senior Literary Fellow at Arena Stage. In this role, they served as a production dramaturg and script coordinator for full productions and line producer for workshops. Rachel also supervised ten to twelve volunteers in their research, writing, and administrative work. In addition, Rachel cultivated audience engagement by moderating post-show discussions with artists and audience, contributing to the theater's Stage Banter Blog, creating lobby displays, and facilitating Theater 101: An Audience Enrichment Seminar. Rachel also read and analyzed scripts.

In June 2010, Rachel became an Artistic Administration/Casting Intern at Signature Theatre where they worked until September 2010. After that, they were a Special Projects Intern at City of Providence from May 2009 to August 2009.

Rachel Chavkin is a history teacher at Shaker High School. Rachel holds a bachelor's degree from Brown University.
