Mel Shuen-Mallory

Mel Shuen-Mallory is an accomplished professional with diverse experience in education, legal assistance, and the arts. Currently serving as a Long Term Substitute Teacher for Newark Unified School District and a Board Trustee for New Haven Unified School District, Mel plays a vital role in shaping educational policy and providing leadership in the community. Previous positions include a Legal Administrative Assistant at Albertsons Companies and roles as a Human Relations Commissioner for the City of Union City and Co-Owner of First Street Opera. Additional expertise includes teaching voice and piano, along with significant contributions as a Chorus member for Opera San José. Mel holds a BA in Music from San Jose State University and a Certificate in Legal Assistant/Paralegal from California State University - East Bay.
