Paul Bretz

Paul Bretz currently serves as the High School Principal at Newark Unified School District, a position held since June 2018. With extensive experience in educational leadership, Bretz previously worked as Vice Principal at Tracy and Antioch Unified School Districts, overseeing programs for Special Education and site safety. In addition to educational roles, Bretz founded Enlightening Learners Academic Coaching and Tutoring Services and co-founded Pleasanton Cavaliers Rugby Club. Engaged in rugby, Bretz has served as President of the Northern California Rugby Referees Society and as West Zone Referee Manager for USA Rugby. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Bretz holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from California State University - East Bay and a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching from San Jose State University.
