Laurel Harig Khan

Laurel Harig Khan is an experienced instructor currently serving at The Newberry since January 2018, with prior teaching roles at the University of Chicago Graham School, where Arabic language courses and topics related to the history of Lebanon, Arabic poetry, and Islamic Art were taught. Previous positions include Accessions Assistant at the University of Chicago Regenstein Library, Graduate Assistant at the American University of Beirut, and various roles at Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture, focusing on teaching and event organization. Early career experience includes an editorial internship at Zed Books Ltd. Laurel Harig Khan holds a BA in Cross-Cultural Communications from Simon's Rock College of Bard, as well as degrees from the American University of Beirut and the University of Chicago.
