Micaela Au Yong has over 20 years of experience in user experience (UX) design and development. Micaela currently works at New Era Technology as a User Experience Lead, where they are responsible for guiding the overhaul of a digital asset management application and driving a user-centered UX strategy. Micaela collaborates closely with developers to seamlessly integrate UI designs and enhance data manipulation through user-friendly wireframes.
Prior to their current role, Micaela worked at Sage as a Principal Product Designer, leading the design strategy for Sage People HCM and payroll solutions. Micaela conducted user research, developed user personas, and formulated a comprehensive UX strategy focused on designing a simple and intuitive interface. Micaela also worked as a UX Lead Designer for Sage People Payroll.
Micaela has also held positions at Bank of America as a VP, UX Strategist and UI Designer, SAP as a Senior Information Architect, JPMorgan Chase as a Senior Interaction Designer, and TrueAction as a Web Developer. Micaela has a strong background in UI engineering and has previously worked as a User Interface Developer Contractor at Oracle and an AVP, User Interface System Engineer at Bank of America.
In addition to their corporate roles, Micaela worked as a Freelance Design Consultant for almost a decade, providing design services to various clients. Their extensive work experience showcases their expertise in UX design, strategy, and development across different industries.
Micaela Au Yong completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Communication Arts from Moore College of Art and Design from 1997 to 2001. Prior to that, they studied Human Relations at the University of Pittsburgh from 1994 to 1997.
