Tom Maleski

Customer Success Manager at Newforma

Tom Maleski has a diverse work experience in the field of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and CAD (Computer-Aided Design). Tom started their career as an Application Engineer at Napco CAD Solutions in 1998. Tom then worked as a Structural Designer at ARCNET Architects and PS&S from 1999 to 2005.

In 2005, Tom joined IMAGINiT Technologies as a Senior Application Engineer, where they provided training, implementation, and consulting services to Architectural, Structural, and MEP firms. Tom worked with clients such as Autodesk, ARUP, and HBO Studios.

Tom returned to PS&S in 2006 as a Structural Designer before moving on to Buro Happold in 2008. At Buro Happold, they served as an Associate and Digital Design Manager, overseeing the rollout of Revit Structure and Revit MEP in 29 offices worldwide. Tom managed a team of 18 technicians and worked on notable projects like the King Abdulaziz Center for Knowledge and Culture and Crystal Bridges Museum.

From 2010 to 2016, Tom worked at DLB Associates as a BIM Team Leader and Trainer, where they implemented BIM applications and developed training programs for different workgroups. Tom then joined PS&S again in 2016 as a Senior Projects Controls/BIM Manager/Trainer, focusing on training and mentoring staff on various tools and add-ons.

In 2018, Tom became a BIM Manager/Senior Associate at PS&S, responsible for training and mentoring staff in the Building Group across multiple offices. Tom also provided support for tools like Newforma, e-SPECS, and Enscape.

In 2020, Tom joined Newforma as a Senior Solutions Engineer before transitioning to the role of Customer Success Manager in 2022.

Throughout their career, Tom has also operated their own consulting company, Maleski Consulting, since 2009. The company offers Revit modeling, AutoCAD drafting services, and training for AE firms.

Tom Maleski has a strong education history in the fields of architecture and civil engineering. Tom obtained their Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. Tom furthered their education at the same institution and earned a BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) from 1996 to 2001.

In addition to their formal education, Tom has also obtained several certifications in various fields. Most recently, in March 2021, they received certifications from Procore Technologies as a Procore Administrator and a Procore Certified Project Manager in Core Tools, Quality & Safety, Resource Management, and Preconstruction. Prior to that, in November 2020, they completed the "Power BI and BIM: Analysis and Visualization" course through LinkedIn. In the same year, they also completed courses on "BIM 360 Design Essential Training," "Microsoft Graph for Developers," "BIM 360: Administration Quick Start," "Dynamo 1.x Essential Training," "Moving Your Class Online Quickly and Efficiently," "Revit: Creating C# Plugins," "Dynamo for Revit: Python Scripting," and "Learning Python" through LinkedIn.

Tom's previous certifications include "Navisworks Advanced" and "Primavera P6 Essential Training" in 2020, "MySQL Installation and Configuration" in 2019, "PowerShell: Automating Administration" in 2019, and "Learning Windows 10 Deployment with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2013" and "PowerShell 5 Essential Training" in the same year.
