Director Of Material Process Technology at Newlight Technologies

Jose Martin has a diverse work experience in the manufacturing industry. Jose started their career in 2000 at BASF Corporation, where they worked as a Plant Engineer, Quality Assurance Technician Sr., and QA Supervisor until 2006. During their time there, they coordinated preventive maintenance and managed small capital projects. From 2006 to 2008, they worked at The Dial Corporation as a Project Engineer, overseeing capital projects and maintenance activities for the LA plant.

In 2008, Jose joined American RENOLIT Corporation as a Process Engineer, specializing in the extrusion of PVC and Polyolefin medical films. Jose worked there until 2016, gaining extensive experience in the production of high-quality plastic films used in medical and pharmaceutical applications.

From 2016 to 2016, Jose worked at Vesta, a Lubrizol Company, as a Process Engineer, focusing on the extrusion of Thermoplastic Medical Tubing used in advanced medical procedures. After that, they moved to Spartech LLC in 2017, where they held the roles of Sr. Manufacturing Process Engineer and Manufacturing Manager. Jose gained expertise in extrusion processes for various plastic materials used in aerospace, medical, construction, food, automotive, electronics, appliances packaging, spa, and agricultural markets.

Currently, Jose is working at Newlight Technologies, Inc. since 2021. Jose holds the position of Sr. Extrusion Process Engineer and Associate Director of Compounding and Extrusion. Jose'sresponsibilities include producing Polyhydroxy butyrate (PHB) biopolymer resin, which is used to replace single-use plastics in various applications such as straws, cutlery, coating for paper products, sheet for fashion, and moldings for apparel.

Jose Martin attended Carson High School from 1992 to 1996. After completing high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from California State University-Long Beach. Jose studied chemical engineering from 1996 to 2002.
