Duncan Tyler

Duncan Tyler is an experienced geotechnical engineering professional with over three decades in the mining industry. Currently serving as the Manager of Geotechnical Engineering Underground at Newmont Corporation since November 2023, Duncan previously held the same position at Newcrest Mining from May 2019 to November 2023. Duncan's background includes senior consulting roles at Pitt&Sherry and strategic planning management at BHP Billiton, along with various superintendent and engineering positions across BHP Billiton's diamond and aluminium sectors, and earlier roles in geotechnical services at Mount Isa Mines and Mott MacDonald. Duncan holds a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from Camborne School of Mines, along with a BSc in Exploration & Mining Geology from the University of Wales.
