James Lett

James Lett is an experienced geotechnical engineer currently serving as the Regional Principal Geotechnical Engineer at Newmont Corporation since November 2023. With a career spanning over 16 years at Newcrest Mining, James Lett has held several key positions including Principal Geotechnical Engineer for West Canada and various superintendent roles focused on geotechnical operations and engineering. Academic achievements include a Doctor of Philosophy in Caving Geomechanics from Deakin University (2018-2023), a Bachelor's degree in Applied Geology from UNSW Australia, and a Master's degree in Geology and Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Sydney, as well as a Diploma in Management from Swinburne University of Technology.
