Janet Baron Gavidia

Janet Baron Gavidia is an experienced metallurgical professional with a robust background in the mining and processing industry. Currently serving as Director Metallurgical Services, Director Processing, and Principal Advisor - Process at Newmont Corporation since July 2018, Janet has previously held positions as Manager of Hydrometallurgy at AuTec and Chief Metallurgist at Barrick Gold Corporation. With a solid foundation in metallurgical roles that include Senior Metallurgist and Metallurgist at Barrick Gold, Janet's expertise is complemented by academic experience as a Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Guelph. Janet holds a Ph.D. in Electrochemistry from the University of Guelph, obtained in 2010.
