Rich Herold

Rich Herold is the Vice President of Global Government Relations at Newmont Corporation. Rich has held this position since February 2014.

Herold has over 20 years of experience in law and government relations. Rich began their career as an Executive Counsel at GE Transportation in August 2009. In this role, they provided legal advice on a variety of issues, including regulatory compliance, government contracts, and transportation law.

In February 2014, Herold joined Newmont Corporation as the Vice President of Global Government Relations. In this role, they lead an international team to achieve government support of business growth and protection of ongoing operations world-wide. Rich also provides forward-looking political analysis/intelligence to company leadership and board of directors. In addition, Herold develops and leads corporate governance standards and country risk programs. Rich also engages with top government leaders in support of business growth.

Herold has a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.

Rich Herold attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they earned a BA in Economics and Political Science. Rich then attended Georgetown University Law Center, where they earned a JD in Law.

Rich Herold reports to Stephen P. Gottesfeld, EVP, Chief Sustainability & External Affairs Officer. They are on a team with and Nick Cotts - VP, External Relations & Social Responsibility.
