Tyson Gibbs

Tyson Gibbs is an experienced geologist with a strong background in mineral exploration and resource management. Currently serving as the Director of Exploration for West Africa at Newmont Corporation since May 2020, Tyson previously held the position of Mineral Resource Manager at Nevada Gold Mines from June 2019 to May 2020. Tyson's extensive tenure at Newmont Corporation from April 2008 to May 2019 included roles such as Site Geology Manager for Long Canyon and Exodus Underground, Senior Geologist for Near Mine and Early Stage Projects, and Senior Mine Geologist at Leeville Underground. Earlier experience at Placer Dome as a Mine Geologist for Turquoise Ridge Underground further solidified expertise in the field. Tyson holds a Master's degree in Geology/Earth Science from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
