Gary Fedoroff

Director, Experiential Learning at Newport Academy

Gary Fedoroff has been working with high-risk teens for nearly 15 years, in settings ranging from community centers to juvenile drug court. He is passionate about helping teens to grow and learn about themselves and their strengths. He excels in treating adolescents who have lost a sense of connection to self and others, and who are open to new challenges and activities that help them build self-esteem and perspective.

A Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Gary is trained in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Attachment-Based Family Therapy. Dedicated to engaging adolescents in recovery through multiple approaches, he gives teens the opportunity to challenge themselves physically and emotionally through outdoor Adventure Therapy.

Before joining the Newport Academy team, Gary worked as an Alcohol and Drug Intervention Specialist for the Novato (California) Unified School District, and as a counselor and case manager for Bay Area Community Resources.
