Kayla Koch has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Kayla currently holds the position of Lead Product Designer (Formative) at Newsela. Prior to this, they worked at Formative as a Lead Product Designer and Senior Product Designer, where they led the creation and implementation of Formative's Design system, improved design workflow, and guided the marketing team in a rebrand. Before that, they served as a Senior Interactive Product Designer and Interactive Product Designer at Magic+Might, where they developed and maintained design systems, contributed to the research and design of interactive products, and conducted user-centric research. Kayla also worked at Multiple, Inc. as a Designer and Design Intern, where they were responsible for creative lead on design and development initiatives and collaborated on the rebranding of Multiple. Additionally, they worked as a Graphic Designer at The Columbia Chronicle and as a Freelance Designer at Integrated Merchandising Systems, LLC.
Kayla Koch holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic Design from Columbia College Chicago. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Learn CSS and Learn HTML from Codecademy in 2022, and certifications in Accessibility for Web Design and UX Foundations: Accessibility from LinkedIn in 2021.
