Jonny McFarlane

Jonny McFarlane is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in sports media. Currently serving as Head of Sport and Project Editor at Newsquest since April 2021, Jonny has previously held significant roles at Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail Ltd, including Live Sports Editor and Editor of Football Scotland. In addition to editorial duties, Jonny has also taken on a mentorship role as a Senior Fellow for the John Schofield Trust, guiding early career journalists from January 2024 to January 2025. Jonny earned a Master’s degree in Journalism from Edinburgh Napier University in 2013.
