Martin Stephan, CFA has extensive work experience in the finance industry. Martin is currently the Head of Equity Quantitative Research at Newton Investment Management Group, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to this, Martin worked at Mellon from 2018 to 2021, where they served as the Head of Equity Quantitative Research and then as the Director of Investment Risk. From 2003 to 2018, they worked at The Boston Company Asset Management, first as a Quantitative Analyst and then as the Director of Quantitative Research. Martin also worked as a Quantitative Analyst at Standish Mellon Asset Management Company from 2001 to 2003 and at Standish, Ayer & Wood, Inc. from 1997 to 2001. Martin began their career at Morgan Stanley in 1990, where they held roles as an Investment Banking Analyst and later as an Equity Research Analyst.

Martin Stephan, CFA earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from Dartmouth College between 1986 and 1990. Martin then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the MIT Sloan School of Management from 1995 to 1997. In September 1999, they obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder certification from the CFA Institute.
