Stephen Benson is a seasoned equity research analyst with extensive experience in the financial sector. Currently serving as a senior equity research analyst at Newton Investment Management since 2018, Stephen's coverage spans global chemicals, industrial biotech, consumer ingredients, agriculture, mining, medical services, and semi-cap equipment. Prior to this role, Stephen spent over a decade at Goldman Sachs, where responsibilities included leading the European chemicals equity research team, overseeing equity research for European steel, mining, paper, and packaging sectors, and serving as an executive director focusing on clean technology, particularly renewable energy. Stephen began their career at EY as a research analyst supporting M&A teams with sector research. Educationally, Stephen holds a Master's of Applied Science (hons) from Massey University, completed between 1994 and 2000.
