Michael Traynham is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in environmental law and compliance. Currently serving as Of Counsel at Maynard Nexsen PC since April 2023, Michael represents a diverse clientele on matters related to hazardous waste management, environmental due diligence, and regulatory compliance under various environmental laws. Previously, as Special Counsel at Nexsen Pruet, LLC, and Environmental Law Attorney at Fort Jackson's Office of Staff Judge Advocate, Michael advocated for clients in permitting and compliance issues while also providing legal guidance on environmental and real estate matters. With a strong background in state regulatory frameworks from tenure as Chief Counsel for Environmental Quality Control at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Michael has a proven track record in litigation and policy development across multiple legal contexts. Educated at the University of South Carolina, Michael holds a JD in Law and a BS in Accounting.
