Alexander Yong

Technical Lead at Next DLP

Alexander Yong has a diverse work experience in the tech industry. Alexander began their career as a Summer Intern at Siemens in 2007, where they focused on Man Machine Interface for SCADA substation control systems. In 2008, they returned to Siemens as a Summer Intern, this time working on solutions for remote substation maintenance using VB.

Later in 2008, Alexander joined Cisco Systems as a Software Engineer. During their time there, they developed applications software for real-time video conferencing network infrastructure and platforms. Alexander also worked on hardware platform bring-up, device drivers, networking, and build systems using NetBSD and FreeBSD. Alexander remained at Cisco Systems until 2015.

In 2015, Alexander joined Acano as a Software Engineer, where they worked until 2016. Alexander then moved to Cisco, once again as a Software Engineer, from 2016 to 2017.

In 2017, Alexander's career took a new direction as they became a Technical Lead at Next DLP. Alexander later transitioned to Ava Security, where they held the role of Tech Lead. At Ava Security, they contributed to the development of intelligent security solutions. Their tenure at Ava Security lasted until 2022.

Throughout their career, Alexander has demonstrated expertise in software engineering, technical leadership, and a commitment to innovation in the field of security technology.

Alexander Yong completed their MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Oxford from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they pursued their MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College between 2004 and 2008.
