Lance Poole's work experience begins in 2004 as a Product Analyst at Torchmark Corporation. Lance then worked at Protective Life, starting in 2006 as a Director of Pricing and later becoming the VP of Product. In 2014, they joined Pack Health as the Director of Product Development, where they led product development for a healthtech startup. Lance then worked at d.behavior in 2014 as the CEO, helping financial services companies bring innovative products to market. In 2018, they became the CEO of Juniper Labs, a company that utilized open data and machine learning to help insurtechs, carriers, and brokers sell and underwrite small business insurance. Juniper Labs was later acquired by Next Insurance in December 2020. Lance then became the Head of Data Labs at Next Insurance before transitioning to their current role as the Head of Risk at Next Insurance, where they focus on developing cutting-edge digital underwriting capabilities for commercial insurance. Alongside their professional roles, they also served as a Speaker Coach at TEDx from 2013 to 2015.
Lance Poole completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Finance at The University of Alabama from 1999 to 2003. Lance then pursued further education and earned a Master of Science degree in Applied Statistics from the same institution between 2003 and 2005. In 2012, Lance attended Stanford University for the Design Thinking Boot Camp, although the field of study for this program was not specified.
