Essence Buckman-Lesane, M.Ed.

Essence Buckman-Lesane, M.Ed. has been working in the field of education since 2015. Essence began their career as a Senior Writer for Old Gold & Black at Wofford College. In 2018, they became an Elementary School Teacher for Clarendon County District 2 - Manning Elementary. In 2019, they took on the role of Student Services Coordinator II at Central Carolina Technical College. In 2020, they worked as an Office of Multicultural Student Affairs Intern (Practicum) at the University of South Carolina, as well as an Adjunct Faculty and Career Services Coordinator at Spartanburg Methodist College. In 2021, they were a Recruitment and Culture Coordinator at Rahm Academy and is currently a Recruiting Coordinator - Executive Search at NextDeavor Services.

Essence Buckman-Lesane, M.Ed. has an extensive education history. In 2019-2020, they completed a Master of Education in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Columbia College (SC). Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in English with an African/African-American studies concentration from Wofford College in 2014-2018. In 2017, they also completed a study abroad program in Multiculturalism and Human Rights from the School for International Training. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications in 2021: a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education, and a Leading for Diversity. Equity, and Inclusion from Coursera.
