Alex Kennedy

Alex Kennedy has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. They have recently been working at Nextdoor as a Software Engineer in various roles, including Cloud Engineering and Developer Experience. Prior to that, they worked at TERI Inc as a Network Administrator and Network and Helpdesk Support. They also had a role as a System Administrator at Poway Unified School District. Additionally, Alex gained experience as an IT Engineer at Pinger and as a Senior Technical Staff at Quake Live TV. They started their career at Qualcomm as an IT Staff, specializing in web infrastructure. Alex's early work experience includes a role as an Attractions Associate at LEGOLAND California Resort.

Alex Kennedy obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they attended MiraCosta College from 2007 to 2011, earning transfer credits in Computer Science. Before MiraCosta College, Alex also earned transfer credits in Computer Science at Palomar College in 2007.

In addition to their formal education, Alex has obtained various certifications. In 2019, they completed several courses in machine learning and deep learning through Coursera, including Convolutional Neural Networks, Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects. In 2016, they obtained an Amateur Radio License (Technician) from the Federal Communications Commission, and in 2013, they earned a Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician certification from Cisco. Early in their educational journey, Alex achieved the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America in 2005.
