Chris Sams is the current VP of Safety at NextEdge Networks. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Safety and Standards at Tachyon Communications Services from April 2019 to February 2022. In this role, they were responsible for developing and managing the safety and risks associated with construction project operations and operational support for Tachyon and its subsidiaries.
Before their time at Tachyon Communications Services, Chris Sams served as the Director of Safety and Standards at Source Broadband Services from April 2017 to April 2019. In this role, they were responsible for head all aspects of safety, standards, and trade regulatory compliance for a leading engineering and construction supplier for network communication operators.
Chris Sams has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a High School diploma from Newton County High School, and has completed the Regents Engineer Transfer Program at Middle Georgia State University. Chris is also an OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer, having completed the OTI 510 - Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction course at The University of Alabama, as well as the OTI 500-Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry at the University of South Florida. Additionally, Chris Sams has completed the #502 Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers through the OSHA Outreach Trainer Program at Volunteer State Community College. Chris is certified by the State of Utah, Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing as a General Building Contractor (B100), and by the State of Arizona, Registrar of Contractors as a General Commercial Contractor (B-1).
They are on a team with Tim Harris - President, Source Broadband, David Dukovcic - Director of Technology & Deployment, and Rowena Okialda - VP, Enterprise Project Management. Chris Sams reports to Chris Maguire, CEO.
