Andrew Kent

Head of ML at Nextera Robotics

Andrew Kent has a strong background in physics and machine learning. Andrew began their work experience as a Research Assistant at the University of California, Los Angeles, where they conducted research on magnetized plasma interactions with an EM Field. Andrew analyzed the system's dynamics and investigated resonant structures and trapping conditions.

Following this, Andrew worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the Brown University Department of Physics, where they researched the effects of neutron flux on pin diodes and DZERO diodes from FermiLab. Andrew gained experience in wire bonding, LabView, electronics, and cleanroom procedures.

Andrew then joined Inspirit AI as an Instructor, teaching an introductory but comprehensive ML/AI curriculum to highly motivated high schoolers. The curriculum covered topics such as linear and logistic regression, sentiment analysis, convolutional neural networks, and computer vision.

Currently, Andrew is working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Nextera Robotics, a company affiliated with MIT and Y-Combinator. Further information about their role at Nextera Robotics is not provided.

Andrew Kent began their education in 2017 at UCLA, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in both Mathematics and Physics. Andrew completed their undergraduate studies in 2020. In 2020, Andrew furthered their education by attending Brown University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Physics. Andrew completed their master's program in 2022.
