Erik Bernsten has been in the business industry since 2000, when they served as a Platoon Commander in the Swedish Navy. In 2004, they began their career in the business world as a Marketing Intern for Michelin in the Middle-East and Africa. In 2005, they were promoted to Pricing Manager for the Nordic Countries, and later to Account Manager, where they increased turnover by 10% to 14 MUSD. In 2008, they joined EF as Regional Sales & Marketing Director for MENA, Country Manager UAE, Sales Manager Scandinavia, and Regional Sales Manager UK & North Africa. In 2014, they became Head of Sales and Marketing for the Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai, where they achieved sales targets for years 1 and 2 (turnover 15 MUSD). In 2016, they joined Holmen Paper as Vice President Sales, where they built and lead a global business development team, reaching a turnover of 175 MUSD in 2019. In 2020, they became Chief Global Strategist for Nextory and Chief Commercial Officer for DIB Travel.

Erik Bernsten's educational history includes a Master of Science in Business Administration (MBA) from the Stockholm School of Economics between 1999 and 2005, with a focus on Marketing & International Management. In 2003 and 2004, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from CEMS and HEC Paris, respectively, both focusing on Marketing/Marketing Management, General. Prior to this, they obtained a European Baccalaureate from Scuola Europea - Varese between 1990 and 1998, with a focus on Sciences. In 2013, they completed an Executive Education program at INSEAD, focusing on Negotiation Dynamics.
