Maru Perez Sarmiento has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2007, Maru worked as a Sales Executive at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts. Then, from 2009 to 2010, Maru served as a Territory Manager at the American Hotel Register Company. In 2011, Maru joined Booking.com, where they held multiple positions including Account Manager, Head of Office & Senior Account Manager, and Business Trainer. At Booking.com, Maru was responsible for growing and supporting different regions in Mexico, acquiring new properties, and leading negotiations with independent and chain properties. From 2013 to 2018, Maru worked as a Consultant at Amigo Group (Tourism), where they conducted a holistic business review and delivered commercial training to the sales team. Currently, Maru is employed at NextPax, where they initially served as an Onboarding & Operations Specialist for EMEA and later progressed to the role of Team Leader Onboarding & Operations EMEA. In these roles, Maru led the onboarding team, managed system errors and inquiries, and collaborated with internal departments and external stakeholders to improve processes and provide quality support to partners.

Maru Perez Sarmiento pursued a degree in Hotel Management from Universidad Iberoamericana in Ciudad de México from 2003 to 2007. Their field of study focused on Tourism and Travel Services Management.
