Wael FRAIHI, Ph.D

Wael FRAIHI, Ph.D has over 12 years of work experience in the field of medical entomology and microbiology. In 2007, they started their career as an Undergraduate Trainee at the Laboratory of Medical Analysis and Biology, where they performed blood analysis using appropriate techniques and determined the blood type. In 2009, they became an Intern Microbiologist at the Hôpital Militaire Principal d'Instruction de Tunis, where they realized microbiological analyses. In 2011, they pursued a Master's degree in microbiology at the Faculté des Sciences de Tunis, where they designed and carried out Lab experiments and conducted extensive data analysis via Mega. In 2013, they became a PhD Researcher in Medical Entomology and Microbiology at the Institut Pasteur de Tunis, where they determined the appropriate microbiological techniques and tools necessary for the realization of a scientific project and realized microbiological tests and experiments. In 2018, they joined nextProtein as an Innovation Project Manager, where they were responsible for leading new products development projects and maintaining multiple projects on animal nutrition. Wael was also an Operational R&D Coordinator, where they coordinated industrial R&D team and led internal/operational R&D projects. Furthermore, they had knowledge in Intellectual Property, developed scientific collaborations with public and private research institutions/centers and wrote scientific grants.

Wael FRAIHI, Ph.D obtained a Master of Science in Microbiology from the Faculté des Sciences Mathématiques, Physiques et Naturelles de Tunis between 2006 and 2011. Wael then went on to pursue a PhD in Sciences and Technologies from the same institution, with a focus on Biology, Microbiology and Medical Entomology, which they completed in 2018. In the same year, they also earned a Docteur en Biologie from Institut Pasteur de Tunis, specializing in Maladies vectorielles.
