Desmond Martin

Desmond Martin has a diverse work experience starting in 2007 as an Assistant Equipment Manager at the University of Michigan, where they managed the logistics of equipment for the Varsity Football team. In 2014, they started their own tutoring service, Martin's Tutoring Service, where they provided mathematics tutoring and prepared students for the ACT and SAT exams. In 2017, Desmond worked as an Instructor/Producer at JOURNi, where they helped prepare lesson materials and delivered lectures on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and software development methodologies. From 2015 to 2017, they served as the Head of Curriculum and Instruction at Paige & Paxton, where they provided direction for the development and implementation of elementary STEM curriculum and educational programs. Most recently, Desmond worked at NextWave STEM as the Chief Learning Officer since 2018, where they planned and conducted workshops for schools and community partners, developed course materials, and reviewed and revised curriculum elements.

Desmond Martin pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan between 2005 and 2010. Following a gap in their education, they further enhanced their skills by acquiring a Full Stack Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp from 2017 to 2018. Desmond's educational background showcases a combination of engineering and software development expertise.
