Michele Steinberg is the current Director of the Wildland Fire Division at NFPA. Michele has been with NFPA for over 18 years, previously holding the positions of Wildland Fire Projects Manager, Firewise Communities Manager, and Firewise Specialist. Prior to their work with NFPA, Steinberg was the Special Projects Manager at the Institute for Business & Home Safety and a Hazard Mitigation Specialist at FEMA. Michele began their career as a Regional Planner and Floodplain Manager for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Michele Steinberg has a Master's degree in Urban Planning from Boston University and a Bachelor's degree in English & American Literature from Brandeis University.
