Shokoofeh Ghasemi

Shokoofeh Ghasemi is an experienced textiles R&D manager currently leading research and development at Natural Fiber Welding since February 2020, focusing on the application, design, and characterization of Clarus fabric and yarn for high-performance natural fiber textiles. Previous roles include Yarn and Fabric Development Scientist, where responsibilities encompassed yarn-to-fabric R&D and mentoring on sustainability in textile materials. Ghasemi's academic background includes a PhD in Bioproducts Engineering from the University of Maine, supplemented by graduate training in Innovation Engineering and extensive research on cellulose nanofibrils and nanocomposites during postdoctoral and graduate assistant positions. Leadership experience is also demonstrated through co-founding the UMaine Iranian Graduate Student Association and serving as its president.
