Gijs D. Breedveld

Gijs D. Breedveld is a seasoned professional in the field of environmental science, currently serving as the Department Leader for Arctic Technology at The University Centre in Svalbard since October 2021. Breedveld has held the position of Professor of Environmental Geochemistry at the University of Oslo since 1998 and has been a Technical Expert in Environmental Engineering at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute since June 1988. Educational credentials include a PhD in Environmental Geochemistry from the University of Oslo (1991-1997) and an MSc in Environmental Soil Science from Wageningen University & Research (1980-1987).
