Doug Lane

Doug Lane has a diverse background in database administration and development, currently serving as Supervisor of Database Administration at NGP VAN since July 2022. As the Founder of SQL Theater since July 2016, Doug Lane combines entrepreneurial expertise with technical skills. Previously, Doug Lane was the Lead Developer DBA at TaxAct, where significant improvements in SQL Server performance were achieved through code refactoring and index tuning. A former Consultant at Brent Ozar Unlimited, Doug Lane provided rapid assessments and solutions to over 70 clients facing architectural and performance challenges. Doug Lane also contributed to the Denver SQL Server User Group as Vice President of Membership and built a data warehouse solution as a Business Intelligence Developer for University Physicians, Inc. Doug Lane holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Communication Studies from the University of Iowa.
