Mark Gertsen

Mark Gertsen has gained a range of professional experience in various industries. Starting in 2005, they worked in the hospitality sector and held various roles until 2014. In 2009, they became the Managing Director of EuroDomination until 2015. From 2013 to 2017, they were involved with EBF Groningen in several commercial roles. In 2014, they worked as an Assistant Project Manager for Gemeente Groningen. Mark also served as an Event Manager for the University of Groningen and organized the Gala Mystería in 2014. Mark Gertsen joined Almanapp in 2015 as a Commercial Director and later became a Non-executive Board Member until 2019. From 2017 to 2018, they worked at the University of Groningen Business School as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Student Assistant in the Global Economics & Management Department. Mark Gertsen joined NIBC Bank in 2018 and held various positions, including Analyst, Associate, Vice President, and Associate Director in the Strategy & Development and Corporate Development / M&A departments.

Mark Gertsen has a diverse education history. In 2023, they attended the Harvard Business School Executive Education for the High Potentials Leadership Program. From 2018 to 2020, they pursued an Executive Certificate in Strategy & Innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management. In 2016, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) Cum Laude in International Economics & Business, specializing in International Capital and Globalization, from the University of Groningen Business School (UGBS). Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics & Business Economics from the same institution in 2016. In 2015, they participated in a minor program on International Business at Aalto University. Additionally, Mark holds several certifications, including an Executive Certificate in Strategy & Innovation from MIT Sloan School of Management, a certification in Decision Making in a Complex and Uncertain World from FutureLearn Ltd, a Spanish Language Course 0 > A2 certification from the University of Groningen, and a Cambridge CAE Certificate from the University of Cambridge.
