Hanne Skomedal has extensive work experience in the field of bioeconomy research. Hanne served as the Head of the Department of Viruses, Bacteria, and Nematodes at the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research from December 2012 until the present. Prior to that, they worked for NorChip AS as the VP of R&D and Production for over 11 years, where they managed research, development, and production departments and led projects in the development and support of in vitro diagnostic products and medical devices. Before joining NorChip AS, Skomedal held postdoctoral and doctoral fellowships at The Norwegian Radium Hospital, where they conducted research in the field of cancer. Moreover, they also had a research fellowship at the Sahlgrenska Hospital in Sweden.
Hanne Skomedal attended Arendal Videregående skole from 1977 to 1980 but did not pursue a specific degree or field of study during this time. Later, Hanne Skomedal enrolled at the University of Oslo (UiO) where they obtained a PhD in Molecular cell biology. No specific dates are provided for their PhD studies.
