Jian Liu has extensive work experience in the field of agricultural research and bioeconomy. Jian is currently employed as a Research Scientist at the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research, starting in August 2022. Prior to this role, Jian worked at the University of Saskatchewan from December 2017 to July 2022, holding various positions including Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Associate, and Research Scientist. During their time at the University of Saskatchewan, they gained valuable experience in their field. Jian also worked as a Research Associate at the University of Manitoba from January 2020 to April 2022. Before moving to Canada, Jian held the position of Postdoctoral Scholar at Penn State University from December 2014 to December 2017. Jian'swork at Penn State involved projects related to sustainable crop production, water quality, and phosphorus indices development. Prior to their time at Penn State, Jian served as a Visiting Scientist at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences from January 2014 to November 2014. Jian Liu began their education in 2003 at Northwest A&F University, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science in 2007. Jian then pursued further studies at SLU - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, earning a Master's degree in Environmental Pollution and Risk Assessment from 2008 to 2010. Jian Liu continued their education at SLU, specializing in water quality management, and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Soil Sciences in 2013.
