Ruben Alexander Pettersen has a diverse work experience in the field of research and advisory roles. Ruben Alexander started their career as a Scientist at the Veterinary Institute in Norway in 2003 and worked there until 2007. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis at the University of Oslo from 2007 to 2013, where they researched the spread of parasites in Norwegian freshwater systems. Afterwards, they joined the Norwegian Association of Hunters and Anglers as an Adviser from 2013 to 2015, where they focused on securing hunting and fishing opportunities for the public. Ruben Alexander then worked as an Adviser at the County Governor of Oslo and Akershus from 2015 to 2018, where they were responsible for quality assurance and updating water-related databases. Currently, they are employed as a Scientist at the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research, a position they have held since 2018.
Ruben Alexander Pettersen completed their education at the University of Oslo (UiO). From 1994 to 2011, they pursued a degree in Biology, General, and obtained a Can.sient qualification. Later, from 2007 to 2018, Ruben completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Parasitology at the same institution.
