Douglas Gilchrist

Graduate Assistant at Nicholls State University

Douglas Gilchrist serves as the Student Body Vice President at Nicholls State University Student Government Association since August 2024, acting as the chief assistant to the President and overseeing the senate. Currently, Douglas is also a Graduate Assistant in the Teacher Education Department and for the Coordinator of Clinical Practice and Residency at Nicholls State University. Prior roles include Director of Student Rights and Grievances within the Student Government Association and a Resident Teacher at Assumption Parish School District, where Douglas developed engaging activities for diverse learners. Previously, Douglas worked as a Tailor at Formal Connection from May 2015 to May 2022, specializing in custom-fitted garments. Douglas holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education-Social Studies from Nicholls State University.
