Director Of Virtual Learning And Technology Services at NIET: National Institute for Excellence in Teaching

Ann Nielsen's work experience begins in 2008 as an ELL Coach in the Tempe Elementary School District. In 2010, they become a Master Teacher at ASU Preparatory Academy and holds this role until 2011. In 2011, Ann becomes the TAP Director at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, a position they hold until 2015. During this time, they also serve as the Program Manager for School Partnership Grants. In 2015, Ann joins Arizona State University as an Associate Director at the Center for Advanced Studies in Global Education. Ann continues in this role until 2023, also taking on the role of Portfolio Manager in 2015. From 2021 to 2023, they serve as the Director of the Office of Global Engagement at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Finally, in 2023, Ann becomes the Director of Virtual Learning and Technology Services at NIET: National Institute for Excellence in Teaching.

Ann Nielsen earned a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991. Ann then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Arizona State University in 2005. From 2011 to 2014, Ann pursued a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Administration and Supervision at Arizona State University.
