Zach Herring

Co-Founder, COO at NiftyApes

Zach Herring has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Zach is currently serving as the Co-Founder and COO of NiftyApes since October 2021. Before that, Zach founded Creative Rex in 2008. At Creative Rex, they specialized in product and design strategy for companies in the crypto, blockchain, and distributed systems industries. Zach worked with various clients and projects, including Gitcoin, Open Source Collective, and Maiden Labs. Zach also provided advisory services to companies like Atomic Finance, Bootstrapp, and Maiden Labs.

From 2018 to 2020, Zach worked at ConsenSys as a Program Director and Design Advisor. In this role, they contributed to designing and advising on various programs. Prior to that, they were a Senior Experience Designer and Manager at EchoUser from 2017 to 2018. At EchoUser, they led ideation, research, and design efforts for ML and AI-assist software products in aviation and fintech industries. Zach also managed client relationships, mentored designers and researchers, and worked on partnerships with companies like Ellie Mae and GE Global Research.

Zach's earlier experiences include working as a Senior Product Designer at EMC from 2014 to 2017, a UX Designer at sovrn Holdings Inc. from 2013 to 2014, and as a Co-Founder and Designer at Mobl Studios from 2012 to 2013. Zach also held positions as a UI Designer at SurveyGizmo from 2011 to 2013 and as an Adjunct Professor at Kilgore College from 2010 to 2011, where they taught advertising and design.

Zach started their career as a Graphic Designer, Web Designer, and Photographer at Media Quest from 2006 to 2008. Zach initially joined as a print artist and learned web development and design on the job. As a photographer, they contributed to award-winning work in commercial, corporate, and product photography.

Throughout their career, Zach has demonstrated expertise in product and design strategy, program management, experience design, and mentoring.

Zach Herring attended Kilgore College from 2003 to 2006, where they studied Commercial Art & Design.
