Akar Stephen

Akar Stephen is a highly experienced professional in public health and laboratory science, currently serving as a Senior Field Epidemiologist at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) since December 2018. Akar has also held the role of CEO at Stematech Diagnostics Limited and is active as a Resident Field Epidemiologist with the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET). Akar's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Nagasaki University, and a Master of Public Health in Field Epidemiology from the University of Ibadan. Akar has a comprehensive history in laboratory management and clinical embryology, with previous positions at various diagnostic and fertility centers.
