Sara Lundgren has a diverse work experience in various research and internship roles. Sara is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at Nightingale Health since September 2022. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) from June 2019 to August 2022, where they focused on research related to metabolic health and aging.
Before their postdoctoral role, Sara worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth from September 2014 to May 2019. Here, their doctoral thesis research centered around epigenetics and the human microbiome, under the guidance of Dr. Brock Christensen and Dr. Anne Hoen.
Sara also gained experience as a Student Research Intern at UC Irvine School of Medicine, Department of Epidemiology, from July 2013 to September 2013. During this time, they worked on a summer project with Dr. Argyrios Ziogas, focusing on examining second primary cancers in Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivors in relation to treatment type using data from the California Cancer Registry.
In addition, Sara had an internship as a Social Market Intern at the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association from July 2013 to September 2013.
Sara Lundgren earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with General Honors in Comparative Human Development from the University of Chicago from 2011 to 2014. Sara then pursued a higher degree at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences from 2014 to 2019.
