Eric Redmond

Eric Redmond is the current head of Metaverse Studio at Nike. Eric was previously the Lead R&D for Distributed Systems at Basho Technologies, Inc from July 2012 to January 2015. In this role, they Co-designed, developed, and trained cross-functional teams in a highly available and distributed search; delivered engaging presentations to groups of 20 to 2000+ attendees globally, speaking at more than 50 events. Eric also effectively hired, managed, and developed a high-performance team of 3 technical writers; established the company’s first path of technical documentation while expanding global market research. Eric acted as technical evangelist and subject matter expert (SME) to generate appetite and forward-thinking solutions.

Prior to their time at Basho Technologies, Inc., Eric was the Founder of Engineering at MOBI Wireless Management from April 2009 to October 2011. In this role they led strategic planning and management of the end-to-end software development lifecycle for TEM (telecom expense management) Line of Business (LOB). Eric partnered with executive stakeholders to gain buy-in and consensus and provided clear direction to cross-functional teams based on data analysis and customer insight, resulting in the fastest growing telecommunications expense management and wireless CRM solution.

Under Eric's leadership, the company created solutions to manage big data and reporting for gigs of mutable data over millions of call detail lines. This enabled rapid company growth from 4 to over 60 employees while building the development team from 3 to 11 staff. Eric delivered industry-leading innovation with a “zero usage report” which enabled Fortune 500 corporations with the visibility to see 1/3 of business phones were unused; saved firms significant costs and time.

Eric Redmond has an Executive MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from RMIT University. Eric also has certification from MIT xPRO in Practical Realities of Quantum Computation and Quantum Communication, and certification from MIT Bootcamps in Deep Technology Innovation.
