Niels Tuning is a seasoned researcher at NIKHEF, serving since 2004 and holding various pivotal roles within the LHCb experiment at CERN. Between 2006 and 2020, Niels contributed as a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam and TU Delft, and has held multiple leadership positions, including project leader for the Outer Tracker subdetector and run coordinator of the LHCb experiment during different periods. Niels' responsibilities have included overseeing the scientific output and optimal data acquisition of the LHCb experiment, alongside serving as a member of the LHCb Editorial Board. Niels received a PhD in Experimental High Energy Physics and an MSc in Theoretical Physics from the University of Amsterdam, and completed education at the European School Varese. Currently, Niels is the deputy program leader of the Nikhef LHCb group and continues to contribute to the LHCb experiment as a run coordinator.
