Emily Birley has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Emily started their career as a Shop Assistant at Homebase, where they handled complaints, assisted customers, and processed transactions. Emily then worked as a Civilian Instructor at Sandbach School CCF, where they planned activities for cadets, taught lessons, and performed administrative duties.
Emily later joined Bentley Motors Ltd as a Test Engineer, Safety and Validation Engineer, and Procurement Engineer. Emily liaised with external suppliers to procure components for testing, designed CAD models, and analyzed test data.
Following their time at Bentley, Emily worked as a Software Developer and Applications Developer at NDL Software Limited. Emily developed template applications and apps for demonstration and proof-of-concept purposes.
Emily then took on roles at Mullen & Mullen as a Shop Assistant and Data Cropper, where they sought out new potential contacts and assisted customers in the shop. Emily also worked part-time as an Equipment Officer at the University of York Archery Club and as a Student Finance Team Assistant at Reaseheath.
Emily'smost recent positions include being a Software Development Consultant and an Associate Consultant at Infinity Works. Emily developed solutions and managed services for clients using React, TypeScript, and AWS. Additionally, they worked as an instructor on in-house Academy programs, training tech industry newcomers.
Currently, Emily is employed at Phrasee as a Full Stack Engineer.
Emily Birley attended Sandbach High School from 2005 to 2010. Emily then pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence at the University of York from 2013 to 2018. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications including MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional from Microsoft in May 2016, and MS: Programming in C# from Microsoft in May 2016.
