Gemma Barnes

Gemma Barnes has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Gemma is currently working at Nimble Approach as the Capability Lead for the Nimble Design Studio, as well as serving as the Lead Service Designer. Prior to this, Gemma held the position of Director at Opposite of Chaos Ltd and worked as a Senior Service Designer at the Ministry of Justice Digital & Technology. Gemma also has experience as a Mentor at legup.social and as a UX Consultant at Bunnyfoot. Gemma's previous roles include Senior UX Designer at Quba, G2G3 Digital, and MadeByPi, as well as UX/UI Designer at Localphone Ltd. Gemma began their career as a QA Manager and Digital Designer at Dig For Fire.

Gemma Barnes attended The University of Huddersfield from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Interactive Multimedia. In addition to their degree, they also have obtained certifications including the Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience (CPUX-F) from the UXQB – International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board e.V. in February 2017, and the Mental Health Champion certification from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England in May 2022.
