Brian Le

Brian Le has a diverse background in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics. Brian is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Nine Square Therapeutics since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Inflammatix, Inc. as a Computational Biologist from November 2021 to November 2022.

Brian has a strong research background, particularly in the field of predicting preterm birth using electronic health records (EHR) during their tenure as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, San Francisco from October 2017 to November 2021. Their research involved investigating structured data from EHRs, utilizing machine learning to identify factors associated with preterm birth, and predicting the likelihood of premature delivery. Brian also analyzed high-throughput sequencing data to study maternal and fetal immune responses in pregnancy and explored transcriptomics for computational drug repurposing.

Prior to their time at UCSF, Brian worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from January 2013 to June 2017, where they gained experience in the field of research. Brian also worked as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Penn State University from May 2012 to December 2012 and from August 2011 to May 2012, respectively. Brian Le began their education at UCLA in 2007, where they earned two Bachelor's degrees in Applied Mathematics and Physics in 2011. Brian then pursued their Master's degree in Physics at Penn State University from 2011 to 2012. Following this, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2013 to 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Brian has obtained certifications in Data Analyst Nanodegree from Udacity in October 2016, and also completed a course titled "The Magical Marvels of MongoDB" from Code School, although the specific completion dates are unknown.
