Piotr Tracz

Research Engineer, RF Engineer, Deputy Head at NIPNE

Piotr Tracz has a diverse background in research engineering and project management in the field of physics and nuclear engineering. Piotr served as a Research Engineer, RF Engineer, and Deputy Head at the Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering - IFIN-HH, where they worked on the Project of Extreme Light Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics. Piotr also held the role of Linac Coordinator/RF Specialist at the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS at Jagiellonian University, where they managed the installation of a linear RF accelerator for the SOLARIS synchrotron light source. Additionally, they worked as an Engineer/RF Specialist at the Particle Linear Accelerator (Linac) at MAX IV Laboratory and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Paul Scherrer Institut/Swiss Light Source.

Piotr Tracz's education history begins in 1994 when they enrolled in the High School of Electronics, where they obtained a diploma in analogue electronics in 1999. Following this, they attended AGH University of Krakow from 1999 to 2004, earning a Master of Science (MSc) and Engineer (Eng) degree in Technical Physics with a specialization in Solid State Physics. From 2004 to 2009, Piotr pursued their International PhD Studies at the Institute of Nuclear Physics, completing their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Structure Research of Condensed Matter.

In terms of additional certifications, Piotr obtained a Particle accelerator operator certificate from the National Atomic Energy Agency in Poland in June 2013. In the same month, they also obtained an Association of Polish Electrical Engineers SEP certificate up to 1kV for maintenance, service, and installation.
