Nyandaro Mteki.

Nyandaro Mteki, Ph.D., currently serves as a Committee Member-Environment at the Japan Commission on Large Dams since July 2024 and has been an Environmental and Social Considerations Specialist at Nippon Koei Co., Ltd since January 2018. Mteki's expertise includes social impact assessments, preparation and implementation of resettlement action plans, development of income and livelihood restoration plans, and gender mainstreaming through gender action plans. Mteki has also held roles as a Social and Resettlement Specialist and is a registered social and resettlement specialist with the NEMC. Mteki earned a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Technology from the Tokyo Institute of Technology between 2015 and 2019 and 2013 to 2015, respectively, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam, completed in 2009.
